Clarendon School

Clarendon Secondary Modern  School, in Chilwell Gardens and Hampden Secondary School in Little Oxhey Lane combined to form Sir James Altham Comprehensive School, then known as Upper and Lower Schools. Later the Clarendon site was closed and the children moved to the Little Oxhey Lane site.  Due to the falling school numbers on the estate Sir James Altham School closed in the late 1980's.
