I lived in South Oxhey from 1965 to 1981, during which time my father, Rev Dick Shad,  was the minister at St Martins Church in Muirfield Road.  I went to school at Greenfields which I thoroughly enjoyed, particularly the football, and have great memories of my friends in the school team - names such as Mark Inch and David Gammell particularly come to mind.  I left the estate in 1981 and have now written a book which is a kind of novel but also includes a host of historical details regarding the very early days of the estate, including a host of quotations from local residents gleaned from letters and interviews.
