Miss Edith Morgan's diaries

The diary is a record of daily life in the 1900's when the only news was by word of mouth, letters or newspapers. We are publishing her diaries week by week.

Edith Morgan was born in 1865 to Robert and Louisa Morgan. She had two brothers Robert and Fred and two sisters Florence and Lillian. Edith lived in Oxhey village for most of her life, mainly in the Villiers and Paddock Roads area.

Edith worked at Euston Station and was a keen member of Bushey Baptist Church which had been started by the family in the 1870's. She kept a diary all her life but 1900 is the only year that survived.  She died in March 1956.
