Our Oxhey had a pitch at the OVEG Summer Fayre on Saturday 16th June.

Pitching up

We pitched up with our displays and leaflets and our gazebo, little knowing (but suspecting) that by the end of the day we would be hanging on to it all for dear life.

Overwhelmed by visitors

After solving the small problem of no guy lines for our gazebo, we set up our stall, but little prepared us for the onslaught of people, keen to look at our old photos and find out about Our Oxhey.

  • We spoke to 169 people over the day, and heard them reminisce about their village
  • Many more looked at the photos and moved on
  • 10 people recorded their memories
  • 16 children took part in our Oxhey Treasure Hunt

Blown away?

As the day progressed, and the wind got stronger and stronger, we were gradually spending more and more time hanging on to the poles of our gazebo.  At about 4pm we gave in to the elements and took it down before we were blown away!

A great day out, and a great way to tell people about Our Oxhey!
