Volunteers from Our Oxhey recently attended the Oxhey village fayre, promoting the community archive and library services.  We spoke to over 150 people during the day.

This year we chose the Great War as a theme for our stall.  We have worked closely with Bushey Museum over the past year, and they have kindly shared the resources of their WWI commemoration project with us.  We wanted to share the information about the impact on the War on Oxhey and its residents, that was gathered during this project.

Relatives of one of our volunteers, Jill Ibbott were killed in the war and are named on a plaque on the local war memorial.  More information about Jill’s family and about the memorial can be found on on Our Oxhey and on the Bushey First World War Commemoration Project website.
