Computer Courses

Carers in Herts are running a “First steps in computing” course at Oxhey Library in November and December 2010.  This course is to introduce beginners to the basic components of a computer, the main features of windows and the most popular Microsoft programs, and learners will develop mouse skills and find information on the Internet.

Carers in Herts are also running a course in January 2011 on “Parenting an Additional Needs Child” and would like to start a carers reading group at Oxhey Library.

What did the learners think?

I had a chat to the people on the course on their 3rd week.  They told me that they were really enjoying it.  They are beginners, but their confidence is growing and they are learning new skills.  The IT Suite at Oxhey Library is well equipped to run courses, they particularly liked the adjustable screens for learners and the electronic whiteboard, which makes it much easier to demonstrate new ideas to the whole class.

If you would like more information on courses or the Book Group please contact Carers in Herts.
