Children's Fun Day at Oxhey Library

 

Bookstart Bear and balloons

A fun day was had by all on Saturday 26th September 2009.  Throughout the day there were visits from Bookstart Bear and a Bookstart Bear Hunt, Baby Rhyme Time, Stories and Rhymes and Children’s Centre activities for little ones.

There were presentations of certificates and medals for all those children who completed the Quest Seekers Summer Reading Challenge with help from children’s author Sue Hampton.

Many children went away with a balloon model and still more found out about the new homework club run by Youth Connexions.  There was also an opportunity for children to leave memories of Oxhey for the library time casule.

“[The library] looks better because it has book machines for taking books in and out.  They have a bigger homework club.  It has loads of computers and it is new.”
