Dumpo
The mobile library
By Barbara Dean
Before any library we had “Dumpo” the mobile library to take root on Wednesdays.
It was manned solely by a driver/librarian and young girl, and patrolled the then rural areas.
It was surprisingly well-stocked and the librarian climbed my hill one wet night to bring me my requested book (A Farel Caper). That’s personal service!
