On 6th March 2010 we held a local history day which included displays of photos from the area, a history of the library, old maps of the estate, information on Moor Park Tours from NADFAS (National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies) and a display by Three Rivers Museum.

The highlight of the day was a talk given by local author Neil Hamilton about the history of the golf course.  Neil, who was the local policeman in South Oxhey for many years and still lives nearby, has a keen interest in local history and is extremely knowledgable.  His talk was so popular, it sold out weeks before the event and the audience were not disappointed as Neil entertained everyone with his anecdotes and facts and wonderful pictures.

We had some great feedback from people who attended “found the talk and slide show very interesting and informative, would like to view another”
