The U3A Family History Group from Oxhey visited the Library in February 2011 to benefit from the knowledge and experience of Vanessa Lacey, who is Lifelong Learning and Local Studies Librarian for Watford and Three Rivers.

Tracing your ancestors online

This newly formed group came to hear Vanessa talk about how to trace your family using sources available on the Internet.

The talk lasted about an hour and group members were able to see a demonstration of some of the websites on the electronic whiteboard.  Then they were able to try out some of the websites for themselves using the computers in the new IT Suite at Oxhey Library.

Resources in Hertfordshire Libraries

Hertfordshire Libraries have many resources for family historians.  You can also access websites using computers in public libraries in Hertfordshire, including free access to Ancestry
