Ration Books in 1953.
Shopping with ration books.
By Barbara Dennis.
Days of rationing and nowhere here to buy them so a list plus ration books were left on the step for the (daily) delivery. In due course sparse rations were delivered plus life-line ration book. Bills were paid with a trek to Brazier Farm to pay. Then came the new shops in South Oxhey and we deserted Braziers (cheaper).
An old man went round delivering a crazy document about alien landing and the world was ending (it didn’t).
