Fun in the Snow in Carpenders Park

1967 - 1968

By Wendy Onions

I remember a particulary bad winter, with heavy snow, where I took my children over to Carpenders Park, where there was a steep footpath, a road called On The Hill.  At the time it had no barriers across it.

We spent the time sledging down the footpath and had a great deal of fun.  There were also people skiing on the fields which is now Merry Hill Woodland Trust and I remember my husband had to walk to Braziers Dairy on Oxhey Lane to collect the milk.
