A single two and three-storey building, with its own car parking, will be built on the site in Hallowes Crescent. In a statement the developer Paradigm Housing , a social housing provider said, “The existing building is under utilised and this has been discussed at some length with the local authority and the usage is not sustainable.”

  • Just wondering why the old club was demolished and also wondering what happened to the clubs records

  • I can remember in the early days you had to queue to get a seat for the weekend entertainment. Over the years the club got less backing from anyone, so it took private money for its last years survival, for which I thank Tommy Sullivan, Val Ross and Jean Tarling. The old club had dart teams, pool teams, dominoes that the clubs could be proud of.

  • It would now appear that the planning application for this development will not go ahead.
