Last Wednesday 21st March I enjoyed the first in a series of Health walks around South Oxhey. These walks are organised by the Countryside Management Service and led by local volunteers. They will take place every Wednesday at 1pm meeting at the Bridlington Road end of the precinct in South Oxhey.

Strolling along

After the all important paperwork seventeen of us set off on the walk. We crossed Hayling Road and entered Oxhey playing fields strolling at a leisurely pace until we entered a small wood. We passed the Pavillion and the Highlands, where were astonished to witness the arrival of five police cars.  A stroll along Prestwick Road took us back to departure point and we ended our jaunt, with a cuppa at the local cafe.

Although the area was familiar this did not detract from my enjoyment . The weather was gorgeous which was a real plus . I recommend that you give it a try. I particularly enjoyed the fact that you could walk at your own pace.
