My family were very active in this church for many years. Does anyone remember Mr & Mrs Dean who ran the youth club? When many years later I saw that the area for the planned church had been built on, I thought that it was the end of the plan for a church, as the older building was built as only a church hall. A cupboard in the entrance hall, to the left, was planned as the link corridor to a future church.
I belonged to the Royal British Legion Women branch of the British Legion for many years our Remembrance Day Service was held there before that it was held at All Saints and sandwiches in All Saints hall
The second stage of the Lovell development of the site will include a new church. They are also building housing and a new community centre to replace the Clitheroe Club
I went to Sunday School regularly during the late 70’s, when I attended Girls Brigade there. When I started, Sunday School was in a ramshackle portakabin type building to the left of the church which was very draughty and had wobbly floors. I remember the new extension being built and the excitement when we first went in there for Sunday school.
