Saturday July 7th
A nice bright day a cool wind blowing.
Stayed on until 5 o’clock. After tea I went down to Mrs Langstone with some creme silk for a blouse. She is very busy so cannot make it this week. As I came home I met Elsie Ludbrook and she told me they has had a telegram to say Arthur Knowles had passed away. He has been ill for six months and died at the consumptive Hospital at Hampstead. Minnie Whitbread called in this evening, she is staying at her sister Connie’s at Watford. She went with me to the prayer meeting and I went to Queens Street on the bus with her.
Sunday July 8th
A very nice day but still rather cool. I went to S.S this morning the first time for ever so long as my voice would not stand twice a day but I hope it is stronger now. Mother and I went to Mrs Bailey’s to tea. We had tea in the garden, it was very nice out there. After Chapel we walked up with Miss Bonsey and her Mother as far as their house and had a look round the garden. I sat in the porch and eat some raspberries.
